Starring: Elizabeth Olsen, Jeremy Renner, Kelsey Asbille Director: Taylor Sheridan Runtime: 1 hour, 47 minutes Crime | Drama | Suspense | 2017 This is the type of movie that sticks with you after watching it. Not going to lie, I thought about what happened to that girl for at least 24 hours after watching this film. It’s the type of movie that you think could be based on a true story, but luckily is not. Jeremy Renner plays Cory, a mean living in Wyoming who is hired to track and hunt animals that are killing his peoples stock animals. One day, he comes across a frozen body in the mountains, raped. The FBI is called in, Elizabeth Olsen plays detective Banner and the two of them go off on an investigation. Not only does the suspense keep you enthralled as the plot line progresses, but the tracking ability that Cory has is just interesting to watch. I for one, don’t go into nature very often. And if I did get lost in the woods I would surely not make it home. But the fact that he can follow tracks and find out who the killer is, it’s just awesome to watch unfold. The end scene was epic enough. Full on gun fight that leaves some characters dead. A huge thank you to the writers for giving me a movie to watch that answers all the questions, I like that. I also like in the end, before the credits roll, the information about native americans and how there isn’t a database for missing native american women along with no demographics for serial killers. Interesting little tidbit that I hope will change one day. The acting I thought was good. The relationship between Banner and Cory was good on screen I think, and the relationship between the Chief and the people of his town was definitely believable. I really hated those men at the mill (I think that’s what it was, I don’t remember), which is understandable from what the story transpired into. Overall, I really liked this movie. The snow reminded me of Walking Out and I had to wrap myself in a blanket just watching everyone trudge through the winterous mountain range. However, this movie was so much better than Walking Out. I’ll give it a “Loved It” rating. It’s not everyday I watch a film that really sticks in my brain. (5/5).
