Director: Duncan Jones
Runtime: 2 hours, 3 minutes
Action | Adventure | Fantasy | 2016

I'm going to be honest guys, I am not really sure what this movie is even about, but here is what I'm gathering. You have the orcs that are trying to survive (their race is going to become extinct I think?). They gather up all living beings to open a portal that takes them to another planet where they do the same thing. This film takes place on Earth (well that's what I assume anyway) where the humans fight back and are actually able to fight back because of magic.

Guardians have magic and is the only way that they would have a chance to defeat the orcs. Among the orcs though, there are many different clans, one of which holds the main character that doesn't want to kill all living things for the portal to open like the head honcho dude who is apparently evil.

So basically I have no idea what this is about. You a war I guess, that doesn't end at all. Perhaps there's anther movie in the works?

Overall, I thought the effects were okay, particularly the magic effects. I wasn't too fond of the way the orcs looked, most of them were just gross looking which made it hard for me to watch. I also didn't understand the guardian. I'm assuming he was bad? Or just sick? Gah this movie was so confusing, I'm afraid that my review won't help many of you out here, and I'm sorry about that.

I feel like the movie left off with no answers for me. There almost has to be another one with the way that it ends. I'm going to go ahead and say that I both hated it and thought it was okay. I hated it because I didn't understand anything that was really going on. It was war with humans and orcs, then orcs and orcs, then humans and orcs and other orcs. I just couldn't keep up. It also gets an "okay" because from what I DO understand, I think there's a good plot there that just wasn't executed well.

I don't recommend this movie unless you love these types of movies.
