The Remaining - Liked It

The Remaining is definitely not as bad as the movie I watched from the same people War Room. Though is the same in regarding it's a movie that's based on religious beliefs, but this one is still a horror movie first. The movie begins with a wedding, all happy (mostly) and then it takes a horrible turn. The majority of the people on earth drop dead without warning, Later we we find out that this is the Rapture and those who survived are the non believers - The Remaining.

This movie is basically a group of friends who are struggling to stay alive through all the terrible things that are happening on Earth, but they also struggling with their faith. They are still on Earth because they didn't have faith to begin with and they need to decide if they want to continue fighting for their lives or leave their lives in the hands of God.

This movie is scary in the sense that these people were purposely left on earth to suffer, there are flying demons (I'm assuming that they are demons they never actually show you) trying to get to you, and you don't know what will happen next. Also, they are not safe in the church, which I don't fully understand, but that's still gotta be scary!
The Remaining has a lot of scenes that are definitely cheesy, kind of like War Room, but overall this movie was pretty good in my opinion. I was pleased to see an actress that I've heard of (Alexa Vega) starring in this movie. And I thought it was interesting to see each of the character evolve through this horrible time. There were some parts I didn't care for - like how it started out with a guy filming (like Cloverfield), and then the scene when her husband is saying "EFF YOU" to God very dramatically all while his friends are inside screaming dramatically for him to quit.

I'm going to give this movie a "Liked It." I feel like it was a good one to watch for our Horror Movie Month, and it makes you question your faith. So if that is your kind of movie, then watch it and tell us what you think!
