SHARK WEEK

For a movie that came out in 2010, this one doesn’t seem well made. No one in the cast I have heard of and no one in the cast did a stellar job. There’s a group of friends snorkeling in the oceans around Australia to look at the reef. On the way back home, their boat goes under water - extremely quickly, I’d say too quickly - and the majority of them decide to swim 10 miles back to the island that they left from. Guess what though, the waters have sharks.

One guy stays back on the boat, and we only see him in a scene once, never to be seen again for the viewers. The swimmers are picked off one by one by the shark in a scary yet annoying display. Almost reminds me of Mandy Moore’s character’s annoying demeanor in 47 Meters Down, but way worse acting. I love how the guy just keeps putting his goggles on to look underwater. Like what is that going to do? Give him an edge? It literally happens every minute or so of the entire movie.

The thing that gets me in this movie, is one survivor makes it to the little part of the reef safely and then it just ends. Words are displayed across the screen before the credits saying that the boat or any survivors are ever found. This movie is apparently based on a true story. I’m not sure how that can be the case since they never found any evidence of the group being chased or eaten by sharks. And how would they know she made it to safety? This bothers me.

I’ll give this movie a “Hated It.” I just didn’t find anything good about this film. They are floating in open water while sharks surround them. There really isn’t much of a plot. (1/5)

In terms of size, it is equal to your foot number but it is advisable to try them before buying and using them!

'The Reef' failed to do what 'The Shallows' did. It was not realistic at all and there is no wow factor throughout the whole film. 'The Shallows' is not the best shark film, but at least it was able to deliver a suspense and thriller type of film. I understand why you hated 'The Reef' because there really were a lot of dull scenes and the animation of the shark looks too fake. I suggest you go see 'The Shallows' if you have not watched it yet. I promise you that it is way better and has more realistic scenes.

Power Poles are simple to set up and they are practically unbreakable. It does not matter how tough the wind is blowing you can fish your spots
