So I didn’t finish this movie. It was all fine and dandy (okay not really, but it was tolerable) until the dog scene. Yep, I turned it off after the dog scene. And if you follow my reviews, I’m sure you can guess what happens that upset me so much to turn a movie off. I’m not even sure if this was half way through the movie or not, I mean Colin Farrell’s character hadn’t even met Rachel Weisz’s character yet, and I assume that these two characters are the ones that fall in love? Just guessing here.

From what I watched, this movie was seriously effed up. They are living in a dystopian world where you check yourself into this place and you have 45 days to find love and a life long mate. If you do not find that person, then you become an animal for the rest of your life. Hence the title for the movie, the Lobster, a lobster is the animal that the main character wants to become if he doesn’t find love.
Among the plot line, what I watched was just weird in general. The way the place is set up makes it difficult to meet anyone and each week they go out and shoot down loners to be a part of the place. For each person you nab, you get an extra day thrown onto your timeframe. So basically there are people that have been there for over a hundred days.

Now I can speculate what happens in the rest of the film. Farrell and Weisz meet in the woods (she’s a loner) and falls in love. But he doesn’t want to bring her back to the establishment so he gets turned into a lobster. THIS IS JUST A GUESS. I didn’t finish it, so I could be way wrong. Please see David’s review if you truly want to know, or just watch the film. But I won’t do it for you. Sorry folks, I know I’m not a dedicated film reviewer because of times like these. I just refuse. Hated it. (0/5)
