Starring: Michael Ealy, Meagan Good, Dennis Quaid
Runtime: 1 hour, 42 minutes Genre: Drama, Horror, Suspense 2019 For me it's strange to see Dennis Quaid in something where he's not the home town hero or good guy. I have to say though, he plays the creepy man fairly well in this movie. The Intruder follows a young couple who buy a new house, from Dennis Quaid's character, and it's actually pretty creepy from the start. He's clearly not right in the head and has latched himself to the wife. The movie itself has some thrills, but it's not the best watch if you're looking for something to scare you closer to your significant other. It's more of a slow moving plot that eventually falls into the deeper psychological aspects of a stalker (which in this film they call intruder - I guess that makes sense when you get to the end and see how it all plays out). To be honest, it's a little too slow for me and really doesn't have much suspense to it. It's very clear his intentions for the young couple and their friends. Overall, I just didn't love this movie. The relationship between Scott and Annie seems to have their troubles, but of course Charlie dampens that even more up until the point everything in the plot finally happens. Not terrible, but not great. I give it an "okay" rating 2/5. Can't wait until 2021 so we have some new movies to check out.
