The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 - Loved It

Compared to all the other movies in this saga, Mockingjay Part 2 is definitely the most dark. After almost being killed, Katniss begins her struggle with Peeta and lets her vengeful side take over when it comes to President Snow. The movie starts off with the revolution only needing one more district, District 2. Katniss demands to be put into battle and Coin reluctantly agrees. Being sent to District 2, Katniss takes the challenge of trying to convince them to join the revolution. I think that this is my favorite scene of the movie.

After the rebels are at full strength, it's time to take on the Capitol. Which is what the majority of this movie is, action-packed. Once they make it to the outskirts of the Capitol, it's discovered that the entire city is "booby-trapped" with things called pods. Finnick says it perfectly "welcome to the 76th Hunger Games" which is exactly what it is. The gamemakers have created these pods in hopes to

take down the rebels and fight off the revolution. One of these days, I would like to write a post that compares the book to the movie. This is not one of those days since it's been so long since I read the book, but I don't remember most of what happened during this part. I love the way that this movie is portraying the pods (or "boobytraps") - from what I remember I had a really hard time imagining them while reading. One thing I don't remember from the book is the conversation that Coin and the other rebels had at the table in the mansion. I may have to go back and read this book (it wasn't my favorite of the trilogy).

Towards the end when they are nearing the mansion there is just so much chaos and the use of the parachutes are a nice touch. I will say, that there is a ton of foreshadowing in the beginning that it's pretty evident that what happens was going to happen. This scene was very Star Wars-like though, with Katniss and Gale in those huge robes and ducking from the firepower. There were just so many

explosions! (No, I'm not complaining) Overall, I'm giving this movie another "Loved it" for the saga. All the action, the way it was portrayed in movie form, and I feel like J. Law has her best performance. I definitely think that everyone should watch this series of movies and I hope that you have enjoyed our 75th blogiversary Hunger Games week!!!
