Starring: Emma Roberts, Kiernan Shipka, Lucy Boynton
Director: Oz Perkins Runtime: 1 hour, 33 minutes Horror | Thriller | 2017 When the first movie trailer that came on before the movie started (yes, I like to watch the movie trailers even if I'm watching a DVD at home) was The Witch, I knew I was in for nothing special. If you have been a DFP reader since we started, you may remember my little review of that movie. For one, it was my first ever review so it was short, to the point, and very entertaining. If you want to take 30 seconds to read it (I bet that's as long as it takes you), I've provided the link above. So imagine my non-surprise when The Blackcoat's Daughter started and ended, that I hated it. I will say this. The Witch is a better film. That statement coming from me, should tell you all you need to know about today's movie review. The film literally had no plot at all, or if it did the directors and actresses decided not to share with the audience what they were thinking or trying to convey on screen. There was very little dialogue and no explanation. I don't even understand the title... or even the original title with apparently was February. Usually I like Emma Roberts. I find a lot of her movies, even American Horror Story, are good to watch. But this one I just didn't get into and it was extremely boring. The ending was... I don't know. It was her screaming. Why? I'm at a lost on this one. This movie gets a "hated it" from me and a 0/5 rating. Don't watch this guys. Seriously there is no point.
