The MovieAnother comic book movie (DC this time) brings us Suicide Squad. Basically, the government is trying to devise a plan that will assist them in defeating any enemies that they know they wouldn't be capable of beating, like an evil Superman, or in this case, an ancient witch and her brother. To defeat these enemies, they decide to employ (more like force) the bad guys from other comic books to help them. We have Deadshot (Will Smith), Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Diablo (Jay Hernandez), Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje), and Boomerang (Jai Courtney). Each one has been put into prison and was selected for the suicide mission to save the world. The film includes many of the villains' past stories, how they were caught, and their motivations. The film also includes The Joker (Jared Leto) who is Harley Quinn's boyfriend and love of her life. Hers is the story that intrigues me the most, perhaps because she is crazy or perhaps because she is a woman, not really sure on that one. Back to the movie, so this team of villains has to take on an ancient witch who is appalled that the humans no longer worship her like a God. The lady that employs them is, as I mentioned before, from
I liked the majority of this movie. Harley Quinn's past story was the most interesting to me, how she was The Joker's psychologist and then fell in love and went just as crazy as him. I liked the fighting scenes and the explosions. I liked the ending scene with Harley and the witch just after the witch pretty much defeats them all. What I didn't like is how they all went back to prison, I mean I know they are bad guys, but c'mon they saved the world and all and didn't get much out of it. Not cool government lady. I also didn't really like the very last scene with Harley and Joker, were they setting up for something? Hmm... I'm sure David knows. |
