Starring: Dwayne Johnson, Neve Campbell, Chin Han
Director: Rawson Marshall Thurber Runtime: 1 hour, 42 minutes Action | Adventure | Thriller | 2018 Boy oh Boy did I think this movie would be somewhat decent since The Rock was starring in it - there haven't been many movies that I've seen starring him that I haven't liked (okay, it's actually zero that I haven't liked until this one). Now, I somewhat knew going in what this movie would be - an epic film that's basically a new Die Hard, but instead of Bruce Willis there's Dwayne Johnson. The film itself is so much more than that, much more unrealistic. Zhao Long Ji (Chin Han) built the worlds tallest skyscraper, Will (Johnson) has been tasked with the security of the building and almost immediately someone goes to destroy it for vengeful purposes. Guess what? Will's family is stuck inside a crumbling building... so it's action scene after action scene of Dwayne Johnson 1) breaking into the building 2) trying to save his family 3) fighting bad men and 4) trying to save the building. SPOILERS The thing that really got me about this movie was how they saved the building... "I turned the system off, then back on" all after these super smart hacker people hacked into the system to override everything. Um Okay. Classic. END SPOILERS I can't say I hated this movie, but it was so chocked full of action and tense moments that it wasn't boring, but just the overall concept wasn't good or worth making a movie for. I'm going to give it an "okay" rating. (2/5).
