Room is about a young woman and her five year old son, who live in a tiny space that they call "room." To start off, the back story of this movie is a man kidnaps Joy (Brie Larson) when she is a teenager, and locks her in his shed in the backyard. A few years go by and she ends up pregnant with her son, Jack (Jacob Tremblay). Being born in the shed, Jack has only ever known the room. He thinks that outside world is fake, and only knows what he sees on TV. When Jack turns five, his mother has had enough. She knows that they need to get out or they won't survive in the shed much longer.
I liked this movie because I felt like each portion of the story-line had a good amount of on-screen time. There's the time that Joy and Jack spend together in room, there's the escape from room, and there's the time after room. Though I thought that both Brie and Jacob did excellent jobs in their roles on this movie, I think that the real star is Jacob. His character's struggle with reality the entire movie is fully described by his acting capabilities.
