Starring: Anna Kendrick, Brittany Snow, Rebel Wilson Director: Jason Moore Runtime: 1 hour, 52 minutes Comedy | Music | Romance | 2012 I don’t know why, but it’s hard for me to review a movie that I’ve already seen a dozen times. With that being said, I obviously loved this film each time I watched it, but why do I love it? I would have to say the first reason is the music. Beca (Anna Kendrick) is a freshman in college and is forced to “have some fun” by her father. Beca is great at mashing music together and DJ’ing it up. To have fun though, she joins the Barden Bellas, an acapella group on campus. Chloe (Brittany Snow) and Aubrey (Anna Camp) are the only two returning Bellas from last year, looking to get back to nationals and redeem themselves from what happened last year. Another thing I love about this movie is the fact that I actually find it funny. Rebel Wilson plays Fat Amy, and is by far the best character in the film. Her one liner deliveries just make the humor fun for me. Of course there’s a little romance, which I always love. A friendship blossoming into something more, with ups and downs along the way ending perfectly. Sigh I love it. As for the Barden Bella group, I think the whole thing really clicked with me since it’s basically a sorority. I went to see this film with some of my sorority sisters and it just hits close to home the relationships that grow in just a few years of college. Overall, this movie gets a “Loved It.” It’s already in my movie collection.
