Director: Stefan Ruzowitzky
Runtime: 1 hour, 33 minutes
Action | Drama | Horror | Sci-Fi | 2018

This movie has been on my watch list for quite some time, it took a very long time to be released, and when it was I’m pretty sure it didn’t even hit theaters (I could be wrong on this though). Yet another zombie movie, this one takes a science fiction turn where scientists try to track down patient zero in hopes to find a cure for the disease. The disease is actually rabies, so it’s not much of a zombie movie, but similar in my opinion. A new strain of rabies that doesn’t kill the host has spread across the globe infecting everyone that’s bitten except one, Morgan (played by Matt Smith). Somehow he has overcome the disease with little side effects.

Things I like about this movie: There is so much action and anticipation in the film that it was exciting to watch. There wasn’t a moment that I felt like I wanted to turn it off. I liked how the story progressed from a normal scientific research wing to a warzone. I loved Natalie Dormer and Stanley Tucci in this movie.

Things I did like about this movie: SPOILERS!!!!

I know I’m a scientist and all, but isn’t it completely obvious that the cure would be inside Morgan? I mean, he didn’t change or exhibit any of the violent effects coming from the enhanced rabies virus. Just saying, they probably could have found something in his blood to help the rest of the world instead of looking for patient zero the entire time. Also, I hated the ending. I really would like to see what happens to the two after they’ve escaped, but I don’t think I ever will. There’s no point in them making another movie after this one took so long for them to make.
END SPOILERS

I’m going to give this movie a “liked it” because it was full of action and excitement the entire time. I loved the science fiction aspect of it and all the interactions the main characters had with some of the infected. I did however think that air duct scene was a bit too long, but hey gotta throw some thrills in there where you can right? (4/5).
