Now You See Me is about MAGIC, well for the most part. Not magic like in Harry Potter, but magic as in we know it in real like. Tricks and illusions. Four magicians are chosen to conduct a series of magical acts that ultimately coincide with one another. The catch is, they have no idea who is calling the shots behind the curtain. For their first trick, they rob a bank... and this is where it all starts. The FBI and Interpol are chasing them during the entire movie (Mark Ruffalo and Mélanie Laurent respectively), and a guy who debunks magicians (Morgan Freeman) is trying to, well, debunk them. This film stars Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, and Dave Franco as the Four Horsemen, as they call themselves. During the entire movie they are always one, or two, or three steps ahead of both the FBI and Morgan Freeman's character. Strategically planning each trick down to the tiniest detail. This movie kind of reminds me of one of my favorite shoes, Leverage. In the sense that they are conning, planning, and executing with perfection. The four stars work so well together with each of their distinctive personalities. I will say that it's not as great of a movie the second time around, since like magic, you know what's coming and how everything is done. Regardless, if you haven't already seen this movie, please do. You won't be disappointed, I don't know anyone who doesn't like a little magic in their lives. Loved it and can't wait to watch the second (and third) installments!
