MONEY MON$TER - Loved It

Money Monster is about a TV star who gives advice about investments in the stock market, who is faced with a major problem while live on television... a man who is very angry about the loss he had on all of his savings holds the studio and the star hostage. George Clooney and Julia Roberts star in this film; both excel in their spotlights in my opinion. Clooney plays Lee Gates, the star of the show "Money Monster" that has the knack for knowing where to put your money for the best profits, while Julia Roberts plays Patty, the show's producer. Now, I know nothing about the stock market, so all the mumbo jumbo they talk about flew completely over my head, but it was fascinating nonetheless.

GET IT George!

This film was full of exciting moments, tension, comical reliefs, and a story-line that makes the viewer want to keep watching to find answers. I thought that it could have done without a lot of the scenes involving the police - I just don't think it added that much value to the story. As our boss always says "Non-Value Added."
The relationship between Lee and Patty is dynamic in this movie, each one both pushing the others buttons but still able to accomplish what needs to be done and effectively. It is evident that they care for each other, right down to the moment when they all could go up in an explosion.

One thing I didn't like about this movie is Kyle's girlfriend. She was just... a horrible person. I thought that finding her and bringing her in to talk to Kyle (the hostage-taker) would help him realize that he is doing a really bad thing, but it just made everything ten times worse.  Regardless, I found this movie very easy to watch, keeping me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I would definitely recommend it to our readers. Loved it.
