SoStarring: Octavia Spencer, Diana Silvers, Juliette Lewis
Runtime: 1 hour, 39 minutes Genres: Horror, Suspense, Thriller 2019 Octavia Spencer stars in this thriller about a lonely woman who befriends some teenagers. At first, the friendship seems perfect for the teenagers – free alcohol and a place to party away from their parents – but things start to take a turn as the older woman’s past slowly becomes known and things spiral out of control. This movie wasn’t the best put together or scripted, but it got the job done and definitely brought the creeps. I thought Spencer was great in this role. She’s so versatile when it comes to her on screen appearances, as can be told from her award nominations. It’s nice to see her in a role like this, one that’s not really meant to be winning anything other than the viewership to be completely creeped TF out. The other actors aren’t bad in this movie either, however its clearly all about Spencer’s character and her struggle with the way things were when she was in high school. It’s such a short and to-the-point movie that I can’t think of anything else to say about it. Sorry to keep this one pretty short. I’m going to give it a “Liked It”. The movie is watchable, but don’t expect much from it. I’m purely here for the thrills. (4/5).
