There are so many things I did not like about this movie. I should have known I wouldn’t love it. I mean, I almost always don’t like movies that comes from A24. I don’t know why, probably the filmmaking styles they have.
First thing I didn’t like, were the characters and the circumstances they were under. Joel Edgerton’s character was just a mean person. I know, I know, he was just trying to protect his family, but the way the film ended was just horrible. I thought their little family was a strange one and I honestly didn’t see any kind of connection between the actors and actress in the roles.
Second thing I didn’t like, was how we never actually found out what was wrong. Yes, there is some sort of disease that is making people go mad, but I feel like there weren’t enough answers for me. And there was really no plot. When I watch post apocalyptic films, like ones that have devastating diseases that wipe out the planet, I like the main characters to try and solve the problem rather than only care about themselves.
Last thing, it was just so completely boring. You would think that there would be moments of anxiousness or terror in a film like this, but I just didn’t care to watch it. I think they tried to add these moments, but to me it just didn’t work out very well.
In the end, this movie gets a Hated It. It was a waste of time. (0/5).
