I recently went back and re-watched the entire MCU through End Game (so good!), so I actually watched this before even knowing it was a "Christmas movie" and to be honest that was my first thought. I'm so glad I watched this around Christmastime. However, it's first and foremost a Marvel superhero movie and that's what I love about it.
As a brief description, a terrorist known as the Mandarin challenges Tony and starts to tear his world apart leading to a rebuild of himself. Clearly this third Iron Man film has a purpose to conclude Tony Starks story other than inside the Avengers world. There are so many wonderful things that come from this film. First, there is plenty of action in this movie to keep it interesting and exciting. The science fiction in this is excellent. I love the antagonists in this one, making their own super humans. I love the little boy who Tony befriends. And I love that Pepper was included in on the fun in this one. I also love the introduction of the Iron Patriot in this film. I don't really know what to say about this film that I have said about all the other Marvel films. I loved it, it's in my movie collection, I'd watch it over and over again as I would the entire series. I do have a bone to pick with Sony though, I made it all the way to End Game before I realized I hadn't watched Spiderman. Would be nice if you'd let me stream it on Disney plus you greedy bastards. Okay, I got that out. Sorry. 5/5 on this film.
