Fist Fight - Okay

This movie was not as good as I thought it was going to be. It starts off with Mr. Campbell (Charlie Day) on his way to work, the last day of school, which also happens to be Senior Prank day. So right off the bat he knows that it’s going to be an awful day. Basically it is. The students are running amok around the school and nobody's doing anything about it. Then we are introduced to Mr. Strickland (Ice Cube) who is a little too rough with the students and has anger management problems. Along with all this, the school board is firing teachers that day… so here comes the stress.

So in a nutshell, Mr. Campbell pisses Mr. Strickland off and he challenges him to a fist fight. The entire movie Campbell tries to get out of the fight - bribing students, trying to get him arrested, etc. Honestly, I didn’t really find this movie funny at all. Ice Cube’s character was way too over the top angry that it just made me scared and I’m sure exactly how Day’s character was feeling for the entire film. All in all the fight happens and there’s a good outcome of it. Not enough for me to say I liked the movie a lot, but it was an epic fight.

The best part of the film I’d have to say is Charlie Day. He’s probably one of the only comedic actors I like, mostly because of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Horrible Bosses. There was one part that was a bit humorous, when he was doing the talent show skit with his daughter. Basically an entire scene with a little girl cursing out her bully. Day’s face the entire time was priceless, and that fact that his wife (JoAnna Garcia Swisher) was all like “yeah, get it girl” and proud of their daughter was icing on the cake.

With the exception of Ice Cube and Day, I didn’t think any of the other characters had much impact in the movie. Christina Hendricks, Dean Norris, Jillian Bell, and Tracy Morgan all had their moments where they were the ones dealing the jokes, but it didn’t do anything for me. I’m going to give this movie an “Okay” rating, mostly because of the reasons of the fist fight, but also because it wasn’t completely awful. Just not something I’d want to watch again.

A fistfight is the light romantic movie in which you can enjoy some good moments. Such kind of the moments comes after some long time in this movie. You give an almost complete review of this wonderful movie and I like it very much.
