Starring: James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence
Runtime: 1h 53min Genre: Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi 2019 I'm always a fan of superhero movies. Ones that are full of action, fight scenes, etc. So I was pretty excited for the next x-men movies (I've liked all the other ones in the "first class" series), especially since it was going to focus on Sophie Turner's character, Jean Grey. Now, I don't know much about these superheros other than what I've seen in movies... meaning I don't have any idea what their stories are in the actual comic books. To me, this movie seems to be somewhat of an origin movie for Jean Grey/Phoenix and basically and end to the series - I mean they can't really make any more after this right? Guess it's time to bring in the New Mutants series and see where it goes for the x-men. Overall, I didn't hate the movie, but it definitely wasn't my favorites. I did not like the main antagonist for instance. To be honest, it reminded me A LOT of Captain Marvel. Antagonist trying to befriend and then steal the powers of the protagonist, with an ending of acceptance. Sounds familiar huh. SPOILERS (even though this review is coming way, way after the film release) Sad to say goodbye to J. Law in this movie. I know that her death basically starts the "war" between the mutants... again sounds familiar huh? END SPOILERS I actually watching this movie a long time ago, so I am sorry if this review is kinda stanky. I remember a lot of it, but not enough to give it 100% of my efforts. I'm going to give this movie a "liked it" because it was still very entertaining, and I would definitely watch it again as it's part of the x-men series that I would love to actually have in my movie collection. (4/5).
