Criminal - Loved It

Starring Kevin Costner, Criminal follows Jericho Stewart, a death-row inmate who was chosen to undergo brain surgery. This wasn't just any brain surgery though, it was a top-secret, CIA oriented  surgery that happened in a huge abandoned warehouse (kinda like the warehouse in Blacklist).  What they did was input the memories, secrets, and skills from an operative that was recently murdered in hopes that they can finally stop an unknown enemy. Well, being a death-row inmate, Jericho was not about to cooperate with the CIA, and the first thing he did was flee. For the majority of the movie is Jericho is dealing with the "new memories" that he is remembering and trying to figure out who he is now, because he is obviously not just Jericho Stewart, but is also Bill Pope. While fleeing, he eventually finds himself at Pope's home where he meets his wife and daughter.

Overall, this movie was great. The science fiction of it was completely interesting for me to watch. It reminded me a lot of Stitchers, a drama on Freeform that I really enjoy (or enjoyed.. I'm not sure if it was cancelled or not). The aspect of being about to transfer memories and skills into another person is fascinating. The movie itself was fast paced. I thought that Costner did a good job in his role, and I also enjoyed the flashbacks of Bill Pope (Ryan Reynolds) as Jericho was remembering all the good times in his life. He was even able to feel the immense love that Bill had for his wife and child. I think these feelings were really what drove Costner's character through the film. Eventually he figures out how to solve the problem that the CIA was having.

Seeing himself as a different man: creepy
In the end, it was a happy ending (which are my favorite kind of endings). One thing I will warn you on, this movie is definitely bloody. Jericho's head pretty much bleeds from the stitches the entire time, and so many people are murdered. The story-line was good in my opinion and flowed well from one scene to the next. I'm giving this movie a loved it and would recommend it to watch.

Thanks for reading!
