This movie has it’s fair share of explosions, and it really was fairly entertaining. With all the stress that’s getting piled onto me lately, it was nice sitting down and watching a movie after an impromptu move of living room furniture. Con Air stars Nicholas Cage as Cameron Poe, a man who is about to be released from prison on parole, and is hitching a plane ride back to his home. Then there’s John Malkovich who plays Cyrus, he’s the leader of the terrible people on the plane, the one behind this massive plan of escape.
John Cusack plays the lead detective on the case, Vince Larkin, who tries to stop them all from escaping… while on the ground. Now, I’m not saying that this movie has good quality acting or special effects, or even plot. It really doesn’t. But it’s fun to watch and root for Nicholas Cage. His character has some things to fight for, but his morals won’t let him let Cyrus take the people and escape. He risks his life and his freedom to take this man down. Also, to save his friend that’s also on the plane with him.
Like a lot of movies I’ve been watching lately, this one felt long though it was just under 2 hours. I did enjoy the end scene with the car attached to the plane. And there were some other aspects that I liked… like the helicopters flying around that small scenic tour plane.
There was some violence, but it was not too graphic I believe. Overall, I didn’t hate this movie. I’ll give it an “okay” rating. Thanks for reading my short thoughts.
P.S. Dear Nicholas Cage, please don’t ever grow your hair this long again. Kay thanks.
