Sorry I’m late with post guys, I watched this a few weeks ago technically, but my fiancé and I couldn’t stop talking about our new house and the wedding so I didn’t actually watch a single second of it. Had to watch it again before I could actually write a review for y’all to read. Collide stars Nicholas Hoult, Felicity Jones, and Anthony Hopkins. Bascially, Casey (Hoult) tries to steal Hagen’s (Hopkins) cocaine for his employer to get the money for Juliette’s (Jones) kidney transplant. It goes wrong and now Hagen’s men are trying to kill him.
The movie itself is jam packed full of action scenes, car chases, and tension between the good and bad guys. However, the plot line just doesn’t work that well. Yes, it’s nothing new. Man falls in love and wants them to have a happy life, so he turns to crime in order to get a quick buck (or thousands of bucks). I think the thing that didn’t work for me was Jones and Hoult’s chemistry on screen. I just didn’t love it, because I couldn’t feel the love. I also could not stand Felicity’s blond hair. Sorry girl it doesn’t work for you.
I felt like the movie itself just kept going and going with endless car chases and gun fights. Too many ups and downs – which you would think is good for a movie like this, but for some reason it didn’t work for me at all. The ending wasn’t bad.
I’m going to have to give this movie an “Okay” rating. It wasn’t bad enough for me to hate it, but the acting and faulty plot lines just couldn’t bring it up to a “Liked it.” (2/5).
