Starring: Madeline Brewer, Patch Darragh, Melora Walters, Devin Druid
Director: Daniel Goldhaber Runtime: 1 hour, 34 minutes Horror | Suspense | Thriller | 2018 I feel like this movie is going to be one that has a cult following. It’s fairly disturbing yet thrilling enough to keep you watching until the end. At least that is what my opinion is. Alice (played by Madeline Brewer) is a web girl that basically does whatever the people in her watch room are wanting - it’s a “Girls Live” type thing - and honestly it wasn’t something I wanted to watch. But as the storyline progressed, I couldn’t help myself from wanting to know what the heck happened? That’s literally the only reason I even finished this movie - I wanted answers. To give you a gist of the story, she’s trying to be in the top 50 web channels on this site, and when she reaches 50, someone steals her account and copies it. Alice finds herself obsessed with the girl on the other side of the screen that looks just like her. In the end, this dumb movie doesn’t even give you the answers you’re looking for, which - like I said - is the only reason I didn’t turn it off in the first 30 minutes. Now, other than the whole porn-like atmosphere this movie gives off, it really wasn’t all that bad. There were many times that I was on the edge of my seat wondering if something was going to happen in real life to Alice/Lola. And the scenes where she’s alone in her home were definitely troubling. I thought the acting wasn’t bad and the story was okay in spite of how it ended. I’m going to give this movie an ‘okay’ rating. It’s not something I would recommend, but I only slightly felt like it was a waste of time (probably because I watched it in three parts due to my super busy life nowadays). (2/5).
