Starring: Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Ana de Armas
Director: Denis Villeneuve Runtime: 2 hours, 44 minutes Drama | Suspense | Sci-Fi | 2017 I will say that this new Blade Runner movie is better than the first. Though it still has the same feel to it. I don't know what it is about these movies, but for some reason I just can't understand how the characters know what they know. Like I don't understand how they know to look here and know to look there. Perhaps I just don't pay as close attention as I should. For a non-action packed movie (until the end I guess) it just doesn't have much for me to want to pay attention to... Not even Ryan Gosling? Strange. I do however agree with the Oscar that this movie won. The visual effects in this movie are definitely spectacular. Particularly the part with the hooker... so weird but so interesting that I couldn't stop watching that part. Another thing, who was that hooker? Is that something else I missed when my brain was trying to connect everything else? Or perhaps the film was just too long... I was a little taken aback when I didn't see Harrison Ford until almost 2 hours into the film. And I did like the fact that there was a little notion as to who him and Ryan Gosling's character were to each other, but you didn't find out the truth until the very end. I liked the end. I am pretty sure I liked this more than the first for this very reason. K, or Joe (Gosling) is looking for the spawn of a replicate. It's very interesting science fiction and I liked how they tied it into the first movie after all these years. What ever happened to the dog? I'm going to go with an "Okay" rating on this one, because it was better and more interesting than the first, but I still didn't really want to be watching it nor would I choose to watch it again. Long movies just take a lot of effort for me for some reason... except for Interstellar which we will be posting about this month also. That one was awesome and didn't' feel long at all. If I was basing my rating solely on visual effects... 5/5 but I don't do that. I rate the experience of the movie unlike actual movie reviewers and this one was still fairly boring like the first (3/5).
