Tale as Old as Time. Song as Old as Rhyme. Beauty and the Beast! Man I love this movie. Disney movies always have a place in my heart, especially those princess movies. I love that Belle is the outcast in the village, she loves to read and help her father with his inventions. Has anyone read the actually fairy tale by Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont? There is a good chance I have this at home in one of my fairy tale books, and I’d be interested to read it to see what all Disney did to the story. I mean, it’s wonderful either way, but I know how Disney can be when they based a movie off a fairy tale - they make it kid friendly. Anyway, I don’t think I’m going to go too much into the story of the film like I normally do, I mean is there anyone in this country that doesn’t know the story? Woman falls in love with a beast regardless of the fact that he is a beast and they live happily ever after. Being in an enchanted castle for most of the movie, I love all the singing and talking inanimate objects. Chip of course is the best, a little boy who just wants to know what all is going on. And Belle, she is just so accepting of everything. I’m not sure if I could ever be like that. I’d be scared out of my mind! But then again, she does have a father that invents crazy things and encourages her to think out of the box and be her own person. There is always one part of a Disney movie that scares me or makes me uncomfortable (well, I guess I should say that this is what happened when I was little). And in this movie, it’s the wolves. They are terrifying. Trying to kill Maurice and then Belle. I was most worried about Phillipe. Sorry Not Sorry. But don’t you worry, the Beast is a good man sometimes!
The animation in this film is typical for a Disney movie (at least for the 2D animation, which I like more than the 3D/Pixar I must say). The music was great. Sing-a-longs are always acceptable when watching Beauty and the Beast. Don’t judge me, you know you do it too. I’m going to keep this post short and head right into the “loved it” rating, hopefully everyone agrees with me. I’m pretty sure that this is the biggest Disney princess movie - other than Frozen of course.

As a kid, I have always been a huge fan of Beauty and the Beast! Even as an adult, I still watch it when I'm in the mood to lighten up my mood. I also have the live version with Emma Watson on it! It was magical and their voices match the animation version perfectly! I liked how they added the story of how Belle's mother died and a brand new song added! Disney movies will always be memorable to kids who have seen them and I am sure that it gives us the valuable lesson that beauty is really from within.
