Alright folks, is it okay to officially say we're back? Well, lets hope so anyway. If you've followed us, I'm sure you can tell we've been super busy with our everyday lives and movie reviewing has been put on the back burner. I for one, however, am hoping this is a return! And what better way to return than with Christmas??!! So I was scrolling through Facebook and saw a link someone shared titled "Movies you didn't know were Christmas movies." This sounded like so much fun that we just had to do it this month for the Holiday season! There were several movies on the list that we've already watched... Gremlins, Die Hard, American Psycho... but hold onto your seats as we get through several more before Christmas!!

We are starting off with Batman Returns. Going into this movie, I thought I had never seen this film. After watching it, I knew that I had seen it when I was a child - I totally remember the Penguin because my dad would always tell jokes about him - but I don't remember anything about it from then. So I went in with a clean slate to the Michael Keaton phase of Batman (should I have watched the first movie? not sure).

Anyway.. here are my thoughts.
I am pretty sure I'm bias towards the newer Batman depictions, because this one was not my favorite. I thought Tim Burton is a good fit because Batman movies and Gotham City have always been dark and ominous. However, I just felt this was was too weird. That's not to say it's a terrible movie, it's definitely not, I just didn't really enjoy the little aspects that arose as the story progressed.

I love Michelle Pfeiffer as cat woman. I've always had a battle with myself between thinking she's a good character or bad character, and this movie didn't really help settle that battle. Her transformation was strange yet interesting to watch as she sprayed her pretty pink apartment with black spray paint. Danny DeVito was excellently disgusting as the Penguin. And last there's Michael Keaton, who I like more than Chistian Bale but not more than Ben Affleck.

Can we take a second to talk about Robert Pattinson? Is anyone else dreading yet another Batman movie series with yet another actor playing Batman.

Overall, I didn't really enjoy this movie, but I can't deny that the actors and actresses were absolutely amazing in their roles. I'm going to give it an "okay" rating, 2/5.
