Starring: Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans
Director: Anthony Russo Runtime: 2 hours, 29 minutes Action | Adventure | Fantasy | 2018 Infinity War is a compilation of everyone we’ve seen so far in the Marvel Universe (minus all the X-Men that is). The story itself intertwines the Guardians of the Galaxy stories and the Avengers movie stories. The only problem I have with it, is I probably should have watched Black Panther first, and that I haven’t seen any other Marvel films recently. So I was a bit lost and had to look up who some people were and what movies I remember them from. Another problem I had with the movie was the ending… it just kind of ends with no explanation (David says I should have watched the end credit scene, whoops I always forget that when I’m sitting there for 2.5 hours watching a movie sorry). But then I find out that there will be a next one so I’m a little relieved to find out on that cliffhanger which I wasn’t too fond of (expected in May 2019 in case you were wondering). I liked the typical comedy of this movie, mixed between the Guardians of the Galaxy and Spiderman bringing it in like usual. I liked how the movie transitioned between each “family” of superheroes and eventually how they all ended up in the same place (sort of). I didn’t like how some people were killed in the movie, but I guess you can’t continue this universe thing with EVERYONE right? At least they were impactful deaths that lead to other parts of the story playing out. Like I said before, I hadn’t seen the other movies in a while now, so I was surprised that Iron Man and Dr. Strange hadn’t met before. Looking back and trying to remember this makes sense. Dr. Strange isn’t in anything else other than his stand alone movie and Thor: Ragnarok (which doesn’t have Iron Man). I liked all the colors and special effects in this movie, as I typically do for Marvel films. And I liked all the action sequences that play out. Not going to lie, I think Wanda is my favorite character. She should get a stand alone movie. Speaking of stand alone movies, I hear that Scarlett Johansson should be getting one at some point (at least that’s what IMDB says, it’s in pre-production), and I would totally go see that. Just like I plan to go see Captain Marvel starring Brie Larson. I’m eager to see the next Avengers movie so I can see how it all plays out. I will say I’m pretty good at guessing how things get directed in the story, so I have a guess, but I won’t share sorry! I’m going to give this newest Avengers film a “Loved It.” It’s full of action, thrills, laughs, and cries and is great to watch. There’s another movies that it reminds me of that I can’t quite put my fingers on when I think about all the infinity stones. Does anyone know what I’m talking about? There’s a movie where some good guys have to stop some bad guys from collecting all the pieces to something…. My mind is a blank so any ideas would be much appreciated! Thanks. (5/5).
