Starring: Samara Weaving, Adam Brody, Mark O’Brien, Henry Czerny
Runtime: 1 hour, 35 minutes Genres: Comedy, Horror, Suspense, Thriller 2019 Well, this was a very, very entertaining movie. From the trailer I randomly saw before watching another movie (I don’t even remember what it was now), I knew what it was going to be about yet I was still surprised at how much I loved this one. Starring Samara Weaving as Grace, she marries into this wealthy family. On the night of the wedding, she must play a game… it’s a tradition. So as any sane person, she goes into this thinking it all fun and games right? Wrong, she pulls the “hide and seek” card, which means hide and survive. The entire family is out to kill – including her new husband?! Alongside Samara, there are a few familiar faces. Adam Brody – when’s the last time I’ve seen him in anything since The O.C.? Henry Czerny – I know him mostly from Revenge, which I was obsessed with when it was on TV, but he’s in much more than just that. Mark O’Brien – from Arrival - plays the husband. And lastly, Andie MacDowell – Groundhog Day. I enjoyed this movie because it played on good old child-like fun with a twist of horror in there. The ways people die and the ways that people try to kill were interesting to say the least. And that ending, wow. I’ll try not to spoil anything here, but I can’t say I had expected that to happen. I’m going to give this film a “loved it.” I recommend it to everyone who loves horror movies, especially ones that seem to have some comedy in the background. 5/5
