Starring: Morgan Freeman, Brad Pitt, Kevin Spacey
Director: David Fincher Runtime: 2 hours, 7 minutes Crime | Drama | Mystery | 1995 With Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt leading the cast on this one, it’s not terrible. The film is a crime suspense film that follows to detectives as they chase a serial killer. At times, the movie is slow and boring, but the overall suspense and tension on the story keeps it intriguing as much as possible. The serial killer they are chasing is using the seven deadly sins as his motives to kill. Each victim is dedicated to one of those sins. Morgan Freeman’s character figures this out very quickly, good job *claps hands.* I will admit though, it took me awhile into the movie to understand what was going on. I don’t know if my mind was just elsewhere or if it’s such a darkly filmed movie that I couldn’t pinpoint what was happening on the scream. I probably was just thinking of other, more important things than movies to be honest. But I watched it throughout, unlike Fargo and Boogie Nights in which I started to do housework because I was so bored. Along with Pitt and Morgan, Kevin Spacey played the role of the serial killer. And Gwyneth Paltrow played Pitt’s wife in the film. Both had little parts in this film, but still were able to bring forth great parts in steering the plot forward. The ending of this film was perfect and tragic. I’m going to give this movie a “Liked It” rating. I’d probably watch it again so I can watch it with more attention to the actual story. But not sure if I actually will. Sigh.
