Gloria (Anne Hathaway) is a drunk and a party girl. One day, her boyfriend has enough and kicks her out - she is forced to move back to her childhood home. Colossal is a very interesting movie with a story that is both enlightening and entertaining. There’s nothing I can think of to compare it to really. It’s got the comedy with Jason Sudeikis and the entire ludicracy of the story. It’s got story morals meaning it’s never too late to do the right thing. And it’s got another moral, more relating to today’s world (but not so serious), that it’s never too late to stand up for yourself and for others.
I feel like Hathaway does a great job in her role. Changing from a pathetic drunk, to someone who somewhat matters, to someone who saves an entire town. Same thing with Sudeikis, except the opposite way and the villain way.
The ending was great, minus the whole throwing thing (that was a bit much). But I loved how Gloria fixed the problem. I’ll give this film a “liked it” it’s definitely worth a watch especially if you enjoy strange movies like I know David does. (4/5).
