I'm going to agree with David on a lot of what he had to say about this movie. It was long, and fairly boring. The only exciting points were when the boxing matches were happening... and they only happened like three times in two and a half hours. Will Smith did an excellent job, he really is the only reason I was carried through the entire movie. That and the fact that I learned SO MUCH about Muhammad Ali, I knew nothing about his life before then (other than the fact that he was a boxing champion).
the fights that were portrayed. David said that it was almost like they were done jab for jab of what happened in real life, kudos to them for doing that. I mostly like them because 1. they were the most exciting parts of the movie and 2. because of the shirtless guys (and I thought hockey fights were great, what was I thinking?). I love how Will Smith and Mario Van Peebles (Malcolm X) looked nearly identical to their respective characters. If you get a chance look up pictures of them in the 60s and compare, its uncanny.
I liked learning about Ali's life and the struggles he went through (because of race and religion), but there wasn't a whole lot to keep me entertained in this movie. I'm just going to call it okay. Rest in peace Muhammad Ali, you will always be remembered.
