Starring: Michael Jeter, Kevin Zegers, Wendy Makkena
Director: Charles Martin Smith Runtime: 1 hour, 38 minutes Comedy | Drama | Family | Sport | 1997 Air Bud has always been a staple for childhoods when it comes to my generation. I’m not 28 (going on 29 oh boy) and I can still remember watching this movie many many times when I was a kid. Watching it as an adult isn’t much different I must say. I don’t remember that dog being so darn cute though, and all the sappy moments now make me teary eyed as an adult, when I’m sure it just kind of blew over my head as a child. This movie is just the cutest and it really is a great film for family. Nowadays, I’m so scared to watch movies that have dogs as main characters because I don’t want to end up crying (whether it’s a happy or sad moment) and I’m just so scared that dog is going to die in the storyline for whatever reason - John Wick has literally scarred me. But knowing that I’ve seen this movie so many times before, I was able to watch it without hesitation. I just love this movie! I will definitely want to add it to my collection for when I have a family of my own. The acting is typical of that of a Disney-Children’s movie, along with the fun scenes that are geared towards making kids laugh and enjoy themselves. Thank you to the person who asked us to review this one, it was nice dipping back into my childhood memories - however, we won’t be watching ALL of the Air Bud movies. I think I’ve seen up until the soccer one, and then at that point I wasn’t old enough to care anymore (or perhaps Disney, as usual, overdoes it when the amount of sequels and spin-offs should be allowed from a movie). I’ll give Air Bud a loved it, it’s cute, funny, and perfect for a family movie night. (4/5).
