Starring: Emily Blunt, John Krasinski, Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe
Director: John Krasinski Runtime: 1 hour, 30 minutes Drama | Horror | Sci-Fi | 2018 It has taken me way to long to watch this movie. I even won free tickets to go see it in theaters and didn't make it. So very sad. But finally, I've seen it, and I loved it. I'm sure I don't have to do much explaining on this one, as the film itself got a lot of buzz in film world, but I'll do my due diligence. A family lives on a farm in a bad time on Earth, there are monsters taking over, killing everyone in sight - well actually I mean in hearing distance. Every single noise brings them to where you are and if they find you (they are blind and can't smell) they kill you. The sad thing is I don't think they want you for food, but don't like you making all that racket! Emily Blunt and John Krasinski star as the parents in this film alongside their on-screen children played by Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe. Back when this film first got it's new buzz, it was discovered by the world that Millicent is an actual deaf child who knows sign language and was perfect for this role. She owned it if I'm being honest. Every little thing about this story line I thought was well thought out and great storytelling. I did not know about the baby, and that just added a ton of thrilling moments in the film that kept me on my edge rooting for the humans to not be killed. I was even anxious during that silo scene! I'm super excited that there is going to be another movie like this, a sequel I've heard is in the works. As I look it up on IMDB, there's no info, but I totally hope it's a sequel. It ended so very great that I honestly wanted more! I'll give this film a "Loved it" its well worth the watch I think and will keep you on the edge of your seat with both anticipation and fear. (5/5).
