Shannon: Simon (Jason Bateman) and his wife, Robyn (Rebecca Hall) move from Chicago into the suburbs to start their lives over. While shopping, they run into one of Simon's old acquaintances...

David: I remember the first time I watched the movie Inception. I like science fiction movies, and I like confusing and complicated ones – as regular readers are probably tired of me saying...
Shannon: I’m surprised that this is the first time I’ve watched Inception. I think it’s because everyone told me that it was confusing and a big thinker - well I don’t like to think too much in...

[Review] The Zookeeper's Wife

I should have known what this movie was going to be like. Yes, I knew it was it was about how the couple who owned a zoo in Warsaw aided many Jews to their safety during the first World War. But I didn’t even think about what happened to the animals. My heart was broken in the first fifteen minutes of the film, and it was hard for me to keep paying attention after that.

David: I’ve spent a long time thinking about Logan. For years really, long before I ever saw the movie or thought about the movie. That’s because Wolverine is my favorite Marvel superhero...
Shannon: Just so everyone knows, I’m not real up to date on all the x-men movies. I’ve seen some of them before, but can’t say I remember a ton. I know who the characters are and I guess...

[Double Feature] The Last Witch Hunter

Shannon: The Last Witch Hunter starts off a very long time ago, with a bunch of witch hunters trying to track down the evil witch queen and kill her. Walking right into her trap, most of them...

[Review] CHiPS

3/23/2017

Picture

by Shannon

CHIPS is based off the TV Series of the same name that aired in late 70’s early 80’s. I can’t say I’ve ever watched it, but from what I saw in the movie I’d bet it was a pretty good TV show. This film stars Michael Pena (as Frank “Ponch” Poncherello) and Dax Shepard (as Jon Baker). Ponch has been sent to CHP (California Highway Patrol) to sniff out a mole in the establishment – there have been several armored car robberies and it’s obvious to the FBI that there are inside people. Ponch gets paired with Jon, a guy who use to be a daredevil motorcycle rider...

[Double Feature] Storks

[Double Feature] Tangled

3/20/2017

by David
by Shannon
David: Pixar and Disney have always exceeded with the fairy tale formula, so it was a bit surprising when they come out and said that they would be abandoning it with Tangled (It’s obvious that...
Shannon: Another Disney and Pixar movie for the books. Today we have Tangled the story that revolves around Rapunzel. The story of Rapunzel I'm sure mostly everyone has at least heard of. A...

Shannon: I remember the first time I saw this movie: I was a senior in high school and I was taking a literature class that focused solely on Fantasy and Sci-Fi. Now, I say this was a Literature class...

[Double Feature] The Visit

David: After watching Split, I heard a lot of people talking about The Visit. It was natural for us to seek it out then. I started to sweat, because Split was really good, and I was worried. And it’s...

[Double Feature] One Fine Day

David: I will thoroughly admit that I have at times wondered about Emilia Clark’s acting as the Mother of Dragons. But, the problem is, Daenerys finds herself in some rather awkward...

[Review] Table 19

3/2/2017

Picture

by Shannon

Table 19 is the table furthest away from anything at the wedding reception. The table with all the guests that the bride and groom didn't have a specific place for, the rejects, the ones that should have just RSVP'd no. This film showcases this table and focuses on their lives. First, we have the main character, Eloise (Anna Kendrick) who is the ex-Maid of Honor and the girl who was broken up with by the bride's brother just a couple weeks before. We have a married couple ...
