How much pot, could a pot roast roast, if a pot roast could roast pot?

Coffee Beef Pot Roast

This is actually the first time I've made anything other than queso dip or chili cheese dip in my crock pot. I think it turned out pretty well. Put the roast in at 8 am and let it cook for 10 hours while I get my tail light fixed and go shopping for a new wallet. Come back home and my house is full of delicious smells. It's probably the greatest way to cook - how have I not done this before? Overall this recipe was pretty easy. I like that it incorporates coffee, starting the smells off perfectly with a fresh batch of brewed coffee. I wish  I would   have   halved   the   recipe   though
since I ended up with almost three pounds of beef all to myself. I can't eat thatmuch food, but I'm sure that I can find someone to help me eat it right? Yeah, most definitely.

Thumbs up for this recipe.

Fruit Kuchen

I'll be the first to say I'm not a fan of this recipe. First of all, the title says "kuchen" which apparently means "cake" in German, but I definitely think it's more of a pie. First, I had to make the crust. And the recipe itself doesn't explain too well how to do this. I felt like my cold, cubed butter (which I had no clue how big the cubes were supposed to be) did not mix well with the rest of the ingredients. When I was pushing down the crust in the pan, it wasn't as I would have expected the crust to feel like. It was really crumbly  (hey!  Maybe  that's  what  it  was
supposed to be like?). The middle part was fairly easy: put a bunch of fruit (really wish peaches and plums were in season at the moment, that would have be more delicious probably) and the milk filling. The top was easy: it was just like the topping on the Blueberry Buckle recipe I did awhile ago. The end product I didn't really like. It smelled really good, and I think that others eating liked it. It probably would have been better if I ate some a right when I took it out of the oven.

I'm giving this recipe a Thumbs Down.
