Ginger-Pear Upside Down Pie
I also made a pie, but forgot to capture it in a picture. I don't usually go for the pear recipes, but pie sounded good and I wanted to make something sweet. The pie itself was fairly easy to make, I didn't even have to make anything on the stove-top which was the best part. Just peel and skin some pears (this was probably the hardest part for me since pears are super slimy and sticky), toss it with the spices and ingredients, put it in the pie pie and bake. I don't make the crust from scratch thanks to Pillsbury, but I love using their pie crust. Bakes perfectly every time. I just wish I had a smaller pie pan sometimes since the crust is a tad too small. Who cares what it looks like right? It tasted amazing, my friend couldn't even tell that it was pears, she thought it was apples! And the nuts in the bottom really added to the taste. The only thing I didn't do was the whole "upside down" thing, I figured it'd taste the same right side up. Thumbs up!!
