I know that this is a kid's film, but this movie thoroughly entertained me. It has "explosions," adventure, a love story, and g-rated humor - which I find more funny than "adult" humor. The Lego Movie revolves around an ordinary guy saving the world alongside of master builders.
The one thing I didn't like about this movie, which is why I'm not "loving it," is the real people. I totally get that it's the backstory of the whole movie and this scene really brings everything together, but I just wanted the entire thing to be animated! And the fact that Will Farrell is the dad... gah... not my favorite actor to watch.
I'd have to say Batman is my favorite master builder (other than the hero, Emmett) and I am definitely going to watch The Batman Lego Movie when it's released next year. If you haven't seen the trailers for these, go watch them, they are hilarious (link here and/or here). Anyway, I recommend The Lego Movie to watch, especially if you have kids. It will entertain the whole family!
